In the heart of the Metropolitan Area next to city Utrecht lies a unique part of the Netherlands: Máximapark. Only 25 years ago it was still home to greenhouse growers; today it is a vibrant, green icon of modern landscape architecture and community spirit. From its roots in greenhouse horticulture and the surprising archaeological discoveries dating back to Roman times, to the carefully designed landscape: Máximapark is designed by world famous landscape architect Adriaan Geuze, where rare flora and fauna have found their place—for example in the Vlinderhof, designed by well-known Piet Oudolf. The park is a living mosaic of nature, history, and culture. Volunteers from diverse backgrounds work side by side to maintain and nurture this young yet meaningful place. Visitors come here to find peace, experience, and movement. The film Máximapark is an ode to the power of collaboration, the importance of heritage, and the beauty of a landscape in which people and nature strengthen one another.
