On board a 15-meter sailboat, a crew sets off for another world, like astronauts conquering a distant planet. They are on their way to meet A23A, the oldest and largest of all icebergs. For 40 years, this giant, measuring 75km long by 60km wide, 38 times the size of Paris, has been wandering like a comet in one of the world's most dangerous seas, east of Cape Horn. A23A attracts a teeming world of creatures around it, from tiny plankton to enormous whales. But this monster does not only have positive impacts. This is the story of of A23A journey. The growing release of massive icebergs is expected to reshape polar marine environments and play a role in future sea-level rise.
