I particularly enjoy photographing birds of prey because they offer so many opportunities to capture the energy of movement and manoeuvring. It is equally exciting to capture a fleeting emotion in a stationary bird — a moment that begins to tell its own story.
I have photographed birds of prey in many parts of the world and will talk about the moments I look for and try to capture. I will also use photographs and videos to illustrate the differences between various moments and show just how much can change between essentially consecutive frames.
How do you capture a story and a sense of energy in a stationary moment?
