You are walking in the forest and you see a beautiful berry or an interestingly shaped plant – do you dare to put it in your mouth? In nature, there are both useful medicinal plants and insidiously poisonous species, which can be difficult to distinguish even for an adult. In this workshop, participants can test their current knowledge of plants, followed by a discussion: why is it worth picking some plants and definitely being afraid of others? During group work and discussion, we will learn: – which plants are safe to eat in nature; – which can cause poisoning; – which plants can be used as medicine; – why you should not taste unknown plants in nature without knowledge. The workshop develops the ability to notice nature, teaches attentiveness and safety in nature, and consolidates practical knowledge through teamwork. The workshop is conducted by nature-conscious students of the Viljandi Cultural Academy of the University of Tartu. The workshop will take place outdoors – please dress according to the weather and choose comfortable shoes.
